I search for meaning among the rubble,
the ideas that litter the streets of my life,
so much chaff in the concrete field,
where I plant my crops.

There, among the chrome trees,
life has taken hold,
I watch as it grows, waiting,
wondering which of my ideas have taken root.

An image begins to form,
growing stronger still,
I catch my breath at the beauty,
stark against the landscape of gray.

I watch as the visage takes form,
I smile as I begin to understand,
I rush to nurture this precious jewel,
my undying love for you.
